12th September - battle of the bands
Come on down and VOTE for us!
INTERVIEW
Guitar Steve was recently interviewed as a video project - see the link below:
TOO METAL!!!!!
We have just been disqualified from the 3 First Cut Music awards despite being in first place for nearly 2 weeks!
Heres our official statement on the matter:
Just to let you know that the MIGHTY O were suspended
from the www.3firstcutawards.co.uk this week for
basically being too popular!
We received an e-mail from them which read - There
have been a unaccountable amount of votes for your
band, and therefore we have now been suspended. If you
want any more info then please give us a shout! The
first Cut team obviously want their favs to win and we
aint one of them ! Booooo
PENALIZED FOR BEING POPULAR!
BUT HOW MUCH MORE ROCK N ROLL IS THAT! We are the 1st
band suspended - which in my book is better than
winning.
Oh well - we are allowed back next week - so your
votes will be appriciated, especially as the same
thing is going to happen again as what happened this
week.
Finally cleared some more web space and uploaded some of our archived gig footage.
The track "Unbearable Darkness of Being" from our gig downstairs At the Heaven And Hell bar, back in Feb. Use windows media players graphics EQ to sort out the sound a bit.
You can get the words from the lyrics page. (obviously)
I guess I should keep this more up to date - but who cares? Here's some news thats a year or so old...
GIG at the Hev'n and Hell bar 04th Novermber
An unexpectedly late night this - but a lot of fun too. We played a new track - "The Unbearable Darkness of Being" (bit of a Milan Kundera reference there) and a new cover - Wicked game!
Met some very nice chaps from Bolton called Displacement. (Forced Entry and The Sellout Flaw and Grrr! too - hi folks!)
The ears are still ringing from this one. Nice to be asked to do encores so we played South of Heaven and Harvester of Sorrow. It was like Nu-metal had never existed!
It was a fun gig - nice to meet the other bands - Crouch Mog and Avskum in particular were really cool folks. Thanks to Seanie Sean for organising it all! As the only metal band on a punk bill - we were made very welcome!
Check out the links page for more info on those bands.
GIG - Caledonian 27th February
Some new tracks played tonight - Underground, the first new Ornament song in a while, and a few more covers - Keep on rockin in the free world, Animal, Then She Kissed Me, Planet Caravan and Slayer's South of Heaven.
More like Spinal Tap than usual - with PA problems and a broken string - but we prevailed in the end.
But how many encores do we need to do??? - we have a hour and a half set list as it is!!!!
GIG - Caledonian 21st November
First show with New guitarist Steve and apart from his long hair going in his mouth and getting tangled in his chewing gum during Snowblind so he couldn't see what he was playing - everything went well!
A New track added to the usual set was a thrash version of I was made for lovin you, and we were made to play it twice!
